On Helping
If you are able to help someone else, you should. That instinct starts in the family.
Dear Friends,
We’ve just had a relaxing weekend in the Sarwark family, one in which no member of the family was out of town and we shared our weekend at home in Manchester.
As we were getting closer to family dinner on Sunday, Joel asked me to help him with Brickit, because his sister Ruth, who also has the application on her phone, had declined to help him with taking a photo of Lego bricks to determine what can be built. It’s a very cool application, but I was busy with other things and wondered why Ruth hadn’t helped.
At dinner we discussed creating a new family expectation that if a family member needed help with something you can help with, you should provide that help if you are able.
This seems like a pretty good rule outside our family as well, but it’s definitely going to be a positive one inside the family.
Have a great week!
Yours truly,
Nick
