On Making My First Gun
I spent my Tax Day manufacturing a federally regulated firearm in New Hampshire after moving production from Arizona.
Dear Friends,
On December 31, 2024, my business partner and I bought a firearms manufacturer that makes a very inexpensive personal self defense pistol that sells for less than $120 and is made entirely in the USA.
Many months of federal paperwork, licensing, leasing, filing, purchasing, moving, and working later, and we manufactured the first Altor pistol to be made in New Hampshire today, April 15, 2025.
Tax Day.
It was only a week ago that I finished a 2,800 mile drive in a 16’ Budget rental truck with the entire contents of a 1500 sq/ft production facility in Phoenix that had been producing Altor pistols for four years.
After unloading in our new facility in New Hampshire and complying with the extensive ATF paperwork to receive the regulated inventory, we assembled out first pistol today from start to finish.
If you would like to purchase that first gun manufactured in New Hampshire, drop me an email and we can make arrangements to get it to you through the appropriate channels.
Moving that business has taught me a lot about logistics, paperwork, manufacturing, and how a business can be helped and hurt by government policies.
It’s also kept me away from writing, but with everything that’s been going on, expect writing to pick back up both here and on Bluesky and other major media outlets.
Lots of great stuff is happening soon.
Yours truly,
Nick
